Press Release!!
The ‘Yoga in the Park’ programme is about raising awareness of the benefits of Yoga for all and demonstrating how easily accessible it can be for everyone. It’s also a very enjoyable way to fundraise for a favourite good cause. People who have never thought of trying yoga before can experience the wonderful health and wellbeing benefits of the practice. This is for families, office colleagues, special needs groups, neighbourhood teams…anyone who can breathe can participate, by starting their own team or joining someone else’s.

Liverpool Yoga Centre wants as many teams as possible from professional, voluntary, charitable and community groups and organisations all over the city to get involved and to enjoy doing yoga together at the final June event. So the organisers are encouraging pupils to pester their teachers and workers to badger their bosses, managers to motivate their staff and community members to rally their neighbours to ‘Get Together and Get into Yoga’.

There will of course be many special awards and certificates for participation, and each team’s enrolment fee will include instruction and other costs and should be easily covered by sponsorship raised from family and friends – the more people who are involved in supporting each team, the cheaper it becomes!

For an information pack on how to get started, contact the Liverpool Yoga Centre on 0151 709 9169 or info@liverpoolwellbeing.com.

Julie Hanna of Liverpool’s Culture Company, which is sponsoring the launch event on 27th March, says: “We are delighted to be supporting a healthy summer of fun for the city and I urge everyone to join in what promises to be a very popular community project.”

Helen Clarke of Liverpool Yoga Centre, grateful for the support already given by the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme, says: “We are hoping lots of Liverpool companies, institutions and societies will want to get involved straightaway by sponsoring a team, or best of all, by fielding their own team!”.

‘Yoga in the Park’ will not only help to bond our diverse Liverpool community, but will be another leap towards a healthier and happier city. It has already stirred up massive interest from many organisations in Liverpool and the launch on 27th March is just the start of what is intended to become a magnificent annual event.
